Karnataka

Karnataka is a state in southwest India, located along the Arabian Sea. Its capital city, Bengaluru (formerly Bangalore), is a major tech hub and is also famous for shopping and nightlife. In the southwest, Mysore is known for its grand temples and the famous Mysore Palace, once the home of the region’s kings. Hampi, the former capital of the Vijayanagara Empire, has ancient ruins, including temples, elephant stables, and a stone chariot. Karnataka has three main regions: the coastal area (Karavali), the Western Ghats (Malenadu), and the inland plains (Bayalu Seeme). The Arabian Sea lies to the west of the state.
